東山泉小中学校　9年生　英語村体験会

10月7日、8日、9日の3日間、午後にお隣の東山泉小中学校の９年生の皆さんが25名～30名で日吉ケ丘英語村体験会に参加するために訪問されました。

最初はALTに連れられて英語村の紹介ツアーがあり、授業などが行われるLecture SpaceやCommunication Spaceの部屋周辺に配置されている英語村カフェや楽器コーナー、本棚に収められている英語で行うゲームや英語の漫画や小説などの紹介を受けました。その後7つのグループに分かれてグループ名を決めてPub Quiz Challengeが始まりました。

「Word Search」「Word Puzzles」「Common Answers」「One of a Kind」「Music Video Quiz」と次々と繰り出される問題に皆、真剣な面持ちで身を乗り出して取り組みました。元気に答えを書いたボードを掲げて正解、不正解に一喜一憂し楽しんでいました。 休憩時間は自由に英語村の施設設備を見学したり、ALTとともに楽器演奏に興じたりしました。一番、得点が高かったグループは英語村特製のグロービークリアファイルをプレゼントされました。

短い時間でしたが東山泉小中学校の皆さんに英語村での活動経験を通して英語でコミュニケーションをとる楽しさを経験していただけたと思います。

We held “HELLO Village Experience Event” having 25 to 30
Highashiyamaizumi Elementary and Junior High School 9th grader students for 3 days in the afternoon through October 7th till 10th .

The visit started with HELLO Village tour guided by an ALT. They
were introduced to Lecture Space where classes are conducted and shown through HELLO Village Cafe, instrument corner, and shelves of English Games, and English books placed around
Communication Space. After they were divided into 7 groups and
decided their group names, Pub Quiz Challenge started.

The Quiz rounds like “Word Search”, ”Word Puzzles”,
”Common Answers”, ”One of a Kind”, ”Music Video Quiz” were sent out from the Mayor Kris one after another and all the students
tried hard to get the correct answer sitting up with serious
expressions on their faces. Each group thrusted their answer board cheerfully in the air feeling ups and downs with correct and
incorrect answers. During the recess, some explored HELLO Village freely and others enjoyed playing instruments with ALTs. Each
member of a group with the highest score received one of the
specially made HELLO Village goods, Globy Clear File.

It was a short period of time but we are sure that through this
experience, Higashiyamaizumi Elementary and Junior High School
students enjoyed communicating in English.
